              ANNUAL PLANTS

Annuals are herbaceous plants that grow a new plant from seed every year.

  • The seeds are produced by the plant once its flowers have been pollinated and then dried.

  • These flowers continue to produce bloom much longer if the flowers are cut as soon as the bloom fades.

  • Plant on unimproved soil in an area that receives mostly no summer water. These plants evolved with dry summers and watering often delays the blooms.

  • Plant your seeds in Winter so that the cold ground does NOT encourage germination.
