Madden Games Could Be Coming to the Nintendo Switch
While Madden NFL used to be a mainstay on Nintendo platforms, the game has been absent from its consoles for nearly 10 years. EA recently posted an employment announcement that suggested it could be coming back.
EA's football simulation series is selling well, despite the criticisms of what appears to be the majority of the players. The latest edition of the franchise, Madden NFL 21, received a lot of criticism from players, granting the game an egregiously low score on Metacritic. The game was criticised for its poor mechanics and bugs, as well as an unfinished launch, which led to it being listed among the top games in 2020. Fans have even begun using the hashtag NFLDropEA on Twitter.
Doctre81 on Youtube discovered the Madden NFL franchise is returning to Nintendo. Doctre81 found the job advertisement for "Online Software Engineer (C++ -- Madden" that dates from November of 2020. A further inspection revealed that one section of the job description requires two years' experience in working with "Microsoft or Sony gaming consoles." While it may not sound like anything, similar job descriptions from EA do not include Nintendo in their selection criteria. The last time the series had a presence on any Nintendo platform was Cheap Mut 22 coins on the Wii U. In the year the year of 2018, EA had said they did not plan to bring the series to the Switch however, the gaming giant is now changing its tune with the hybrid system.
