It hard to separate Ryan Suter and Jared Spurgeon from each other. When you talk about one of their seasons Dereck Baribeau Hoodie, recently it been an intertwining assessment of the Minnesota Wild top pairing and that alright. Through this season, they have spent an overwhelmingly amount of time together on the ice at 5-on-5. Hardly separated, of Spurgeon 871 minutes in that situation, a total 728 was spent with Suter on his left. Only 10 pairings through the entire NHL this season spent more minutes together at evens, so yeah, that a lot of time next to each other. Wee going to attempt to still separate their reviews, but they are forever tied at the hip while on the ice. Ryan SuterThe elderly member of the blue line, Suter proved once again that age is but a number and someone that everyone is predicting as washed before the puck is dropped, can still play a hell of a lot of minutes on a fairly decent team. He not the destroyer of worlds he once was, but he certainly earned his spot on the top pairing and no one is really calling for him to get demoted down the lineup. As he heads into his 37th year and his 17th season in the NHL, his play has declined but not as much as a lot of people were expecting. Suter is still an above-replacement level player, as he was worth a total of 8 Goals Above Replacement https://www.storeminnesotaonline.com/Dakota_Mermis_T_shirt-27, leading all Wild defensemen in the metric and was seventh among all Wild skaters. Playing with offensively-inclined players like Kirill Kaprizov and Kevin Fiala helps boosts those numbers influenced by on-ice goals, but he was also able to have a consistent expected goal share. A certain move into quality over quantity caused Suter to dip below the 50-percent mark in terms of shots and shot attempts share at 5-on-5, but he still provided well above what was expected of him as he approaches the age of 40. It wild (sorry) that he still doing all of this at this age, but his vision and passing ability has kept up with him, as his feet and skating has declined. His production dipped dramatically only 19 points in 56 games this season compared to 48 in 69 last season but with better forwards Zach Parise Face Mask, the points has certainly been taken away from the blue line. All in all, Suter did what he needed to do and didn really do much beyond that. Grade: B+the spurgeon - suter connection is alive and well, as spurgeon gets his second of the game! Jared SpurgeonIn his first year as the captain of this team, Spurgeon was a monster in charge of leading the blue line on both sides of the ice. The leader on and off the ice certainly kept his standard at a high level and didn really waiver from that position. He led all Wild defensemen in expected goals share and shots on goal share at 5-on-5 the team was getting loads of quality chances when he was on the ice and that can certainly have a massive impact when you consider Spurgeon mobility and confidence to take the puck deep into the offensive zone on his own stick. Being able to do this earned Spurgeon the highest amount of individual expected goals and shots on goal among Wild defensemen hell, he finished fourth in shots on goal for the entire team, only Kaprizov, Fiala, and Joel Eriksson Ek had more. Sure, he could have scored more points (Spurgeon finished the season with 7 goals and 25 points in 54 games), but as I mentioned with Suter, the Wild tactics to get the blue line more involved changed with better forwards available to them

It not really saying the quiet part out loud to observe that the Dallas Stars season is all but over https://www.denverproshoponline.com/Trinity_Benson_Flag-693. Their fortunes and struggles have sealed their fate, and its final dispensation is now to be decided largely by other teams. The battle has been fierce, but at this point it futile. St. Louis Blues left winger David Perron was placed on the NHL COVID-19 protocols just days before the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Works hard. Puts up a lot of points. Blues fans also missed Perron. Not only is he an offensive powerhouse St.Louis Blues Pillow, he also an all-around good forward who can fill the team leadership void https://www.stprostoreonline.com/Dale_Hawerchuk_Flag-142. His absence made the heart grow fonder, but in a negative way. The Blues braced for the playoffs without Perron. When asked about Perron status, Blues head coach Craig Berube repeatedly told the media: avid on the COVID-19 protocol list right now. The Blues lost 5-2 to the Colorado Avalanche in Game 4 at Enterprise Center on Sunday. Blues goals came from Vladimir Tarasenko scored both goals. Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington made 29 saves in a losing effort. Avalanche goals came from Brandon Saad, Gabriel Landeskog, Mikko Rantanen, Nathan MacKinnon, and Valeri Nichuskin. Avalanche goaltender Philipp Grubauer made 18 saves for the victory. Hear from Craig Berube, Ryan O'Reilly and Vladimir Tarasenko after a season-ending loss in Game 4. stlblues View this post on InstagramA post shared by Ana Kieu (itsanakieu)The Blues were short-staffed, outmatched, and outplayed in the first round. The officiating was only part of the equation. The series was lopsided. But the Blues finished the regular season strong and made the playoffs, which I sure made the late Bobby Plager proud. Some Blues fans didn even think they make the playoffs this year. Had Perron been healthy, the Blues first line woulde been a threat. Blues captain Ryan Oeilly is his long-time line mate at center Erik Foley T-Shirt. Perron was usually on the right wing. The pair have extensive experience and chemistry as theye previously played on the same line for a while. But Perron is still sidelined and the Blues were tested by the Avalanche. Mike Hoffman was arguably the next man up as his sniper shot reigns supreme on the power play. However, St. Louis couldn neutralize Colorado first line of Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen. The Blues struggled to get shots, let alone score, and that hurt them a lot.

Well, this is interesting. Titans inside linebacker coach Jim Haslett suggested earlier today (Nov. 17th) that Rashaan Evans may see more playing time on the edge going forward:Jim Haslett says Rashaan Evans will be more involved in pass rush moving forward, and was more involved vs. Colts than at any previous point. This makes sense for a number of reasons. First of all, the pass rush has been abysmal DeShone Kizer Flag. Harold Landry leads the team with 2. 5 sacks through 9 games. Jadeveon Clowney has made an impact, but he yet to record his first sack as a Titan. That a disappointing fact no matter how you slice it. Remember Vic Beasley Neither do I. The bottom line is that the Titans paid a lot of money for sack production that they envisioned, but have come nowhere near actually receiving. The Titans have gone into almost every game this season with just three pass rushers. Those are some thin numbers. With Beasley no longer in the picture, Derick Roberson has now figured into the rotation. Roberson is a young pass rusher with intriguing traits, but the problems run too deep to rely on someone like him to fix this unit. With just three rushers, Landry has played 90% or more of snaps in almost every game this season Khari Blasingame T-Shirt. Perhaps he would be more effective if he got a chance to catch his breath every now and then https://www.tennesseefanstoreonline.com/Jeffery_Simmons_Face_Mask-458. Enter Evans into the picture. You may recall that Evans was a bit of a dual-threat linebacker at Alabama. Although he was also primarily utilized there as the inside linebacker he is today, he played a ton of snaps on the edge as well. It was a big part of his pre-draft evaluation. Another thing: Evans has been pretty bad at inside linebacker this season. I highly recommend that you follow Super_Horn on Twitter for some damning clips. He just not playing at the level wee seen him play at in the past. The idea of getting Evans out on the edge more with someone like David Long Jr. filling the vacancy at inside linebacker is an intriguing thought. Make no mistake. It a desperate thought and measure, but the coaching staff should be thinking outside the box as they try to fix this defense. Can more Evans on the edge be the answer to this team problems at both linebacker positions Drop your thoughts in the comments.

The Houston Texans have taken roster rejuvenation to a whole new level this offseason at the hands of new general manager Nick Caserio in an attempt to breathe new life into a team that struggled for consistency in 2020. And heading into his first year with the organization, defensive coordinator Lovie Smith is excited with the group Caserio is compiling for him to work with. Nick has done an excellent job, said Smith on Thursday. READ MORE:H-E-B No Longer to Work with Texans QB Deshaun WatsonSmith will be bringing with him his infamous 4-3 Tampa 2 defense that proved so productive during his time in Chicago and Tampa Bay to name but a couple. This scheme requires an overhaul of their 3-4 geared defensive staff, but Smith clearly feels optimistic about how Caserio is accomplishing this. As you know we were based out of a 3-4 front for quite a few years here, so it is a transition, and the first thing coach Culley and of course Nick what we all got together to do is to start overhauling the roster and get our personnel to fit it https://www.houstongearonline.com/Pj_Hall_Hoodie-160, said Smith. I feel like were close to that right now. I love all of the free agency moves that weve made because some of the positions were going to play with a little bit of a different guy. You mentioned linebacker, we play with a little bit of a different linebacker Alex Erickson Face Mask, our linebackers are more space guys, run, speed, as a premium with it. Having a four-man front now, we have to kind of adjust that a little bit, but I feel like weve done that. We like our roster that we have right now before we add some players in the draft. READ MORE:Texans Dump D-Lineman Eric Murray Pillow Cover, Add Super Bowl Winner: NFL Free Agency TrackerLinebackers are particularly crucial in Smith scheme with versatility and athleticism key from all three, and especially so from the middle linebacker. And one key component of this defense moving forward will be tackling machine and middle linebacker Zach Cunningham https://www.houstongearonline.com/Cameron_Johnston_T_shirt-67, who appears to have caught the eye of his new coordinator. We have some young players on all three levels, Im talking D-line, linebacker of course, and back in the secondary that can really elevate their game, said Smith. A player like Zach Cunningham, there a reason why were paying him what were paying him. Im excited about so many of our young football players and I think theyll fit perfectly in our defense. But while the individual stars like Cunningham may be the focal points, Smith seemed keen to emphasize that it will take competitiveness from top to bottom throughout this roster for this defense to become what they once were. But as far as the roster, the guy who you would say is at the bottom of the depth chart, I hope he good enough to play for us and he brings competition, said Smith. Every guy each day needs to feel like they need to be at the top of their game, that what going to help our football team, that what going to help our defense rise, to get them back up at the top. Houston Texans have played great defense around here in the past, and eventually, were going to get back to that.

When Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa steps up to the line of scrimmage in 2021 he will see a handful of new faces as general manager Chris Grier focused on giving the offense a boost in the offseason. From drafting Jaylen Waddle with the sixth pick in the 2021 NFL draft to signing a handful of receivers in free agency, the team focus was on giving their franchise quarterback more weapons. Here are three players who could help the Miami Dolphins improve on their 5. 3 yards per play in 2020 which ranked 23rd in the NFL. Malcolm BrownThe Dolphins struggled to consistently string together drives throughout the season, finishing the year with an average of 63. 8 plays per game, ranking 20th among the NFL 32 teams. The Dolphins converted just under five third downs per game, ranking 23rd in the league. Miami did finish the regular season on a strong winning streak, but early in the season John Jenkins Flag, against the Seattle Seahawks, the team had to settle for five field goals as they struggled to convert third downs. Bringing in Malcolm Brown, 4. 1 yards per carry in 2020, gives the Dolphins some much-needed depth and a physical back capable of moving the sticks in short-yardage situations a role Jordan Howard struggled with a season ago. Myles Gaskin stole the starting job in 2020, but happened to play in just 10 games. There is no disputing that Gaskin is the team starter, but the addition of Brown provides the running back group with some experienced depth, something that was missing last year. Hunter LongThis pick may seem like it is coming out of left field because it is but hear me out. The Dolphins tight end room combined for 91 receptions and 1,061 yards in 2020, both franchise records. The trio of Mike Gesicki, Durham Smythe and Adam Shaheen scored 11 touchdowns a franchise tight end record. Long, drafted in the third round, will have an opportunity to push each of these three tight ends after moving the sticks on 60 percent of his catches as a junior at Boston College. Despite a change at offensive coordinator, Miami loves to get the tight ends involved in the offense. Long can attack the seam and can gain separation out of his breaks a great option for quarterbacks moving out of the pocket. Now, I am not saying Long will push Mike Gesicki as the team top tight end, but he could become an interesting part of the offense, even in his rookie year. As I mentioned above Nik Needham Pet Jersey, the Dolphins struggled to move the sticks in the red zone and had to settle for field goals more than they prefer. Long fits the mold, especially early in his career, as Miami tight end who just happens to be sitting all alone in the back of the end zone while defenses focus on the likes of Gesicki and DeVante Parker. Jaylen Waddle/Will FullerThese two making Tagovailoa sophomore year a bit smoother seems like a no-brainer. Two speedy playmakers fit exactly what Tagovailoa needs to be at his absolute best at the NFL level. One of the biggest complaints about Miami offense in 2020 is the lack of separation. In fact, over 29 percent of Miami targets to wide receivers were thrown into tight windows, per Next Gen Stats. While the Dolphins led the league in that category there is some reason to believe that the offense will still feature throws into tight windows and that could be a good thing. Tagovailoa is at his best when he can identify one-on-one matchups and pick apart defenses with his accuracy. What the Dolphins lacked was a player who could make a first defender miss and as a result, gain yardage in chunks. Tagovailoa has the precision to hit the tight windows and the offense now features athletes who can make big things happen after the catch Emmanuel Ogbah T-Shirt. Of course, the team doesn want the defense blanketing wide receivers, but throwing into these tight windows and allowing receivers to make a move as the Dolphins look to improve on being 23rd in yards after the catch in 2020.

Well what do we have hereWhen the Tennessee Titans signed Bud Dupree to a massive five-year, $82. 5 M contract, you probably assumed that the team was done adding pass rushers. Well pump those breaks, because Jim Wyatt of the team official website has an inkling that the team is still looking for more depth at the position, according to the latest edition of his Mailbag https://www.denverproshoponline.com/Courtland_Sutton_Pillow_Cover-331. Here are the full details. Question: Would it make sense for the Titans to add a veteran edge rusher such as Justin Houston or Melvin Ingram Does DaQuan Jones still being on the market hurt or help his chances of returning to the Titans It would be great to have DaQuan back in the Titan locker room not to mention he does a lot of things that doesn necessarily show up on the stat line. Jim: I don think the Titans are done adding edge rushers, Il say that. As for DaQuan, the fact he still available has to be viewed as a positive in terms of the chances of him coming back. Wyatt doesn pretend to have any extra insight into these things anymore, especially since he works for the team now. But he in that building daily, and his opinion is certainly noteworthy, even if he himself tells you that it simply an educated guess. In this case, I hope where there smoke, there fire. It would be smart of Jon Robinson to add another pass rusher to the mix. Harold Landry and Dupree are locked into starting roles, but the team has little behind them. Derick Roberson is the main backup as of now, but was unproductive in 2020. I think he should make the team, but I feel more comfortable if he wasn the first option off the bench. Wyatt Ray and Tuzar Skipper are technically under contract as well, but neither player has much business making an NFL roster in 2021. The Titans shouldn look to get themselves into a situation where both Dupree and Landry have to be on the field for 95% of the snaps on a weekly basis. That what happened to Landry last season, thanks to the Jadeveon Clowney and Vic Beasley disasters, and it limited Landry upside. His sack total would have been higher if he had a chance to catch his breath once in a while. Additionally, we understand that Dupree was there big fish in free agency, but I not sure you want him playing 95% of snaps coming off a torn ACL. When taking a look at the veteran rushers still available, there are plenty of intriguing options still on the market. One player I love to see in two-tone blue next season is Ryan Kerrigan. That the kind of guy that can play a reduced snap count and keep Landry and Dupree fresh. Kerrigan was one of the best pass rushers in the league from 2016 to 2018, when he recorded an astounding 37 sacks in three seasons. Those days may be behind him, but Kerrigan still has some juice as a pass rusher https://www.denverproshoponline.com/Bradley_Chubb_Pet_Jersey-290. He entering his age 33 season, and is coming off a year in which he played 16 games and recorded 5. 5 sacks. It was the same sack total that he had in 2019. Kerrigan isn the only appealing option. Veteran Justin Houston, who played in the AFC South for the Colts last season, is still on the open market as well. Houston just turned 32 years old and is coming off an 8 sack season. Houston has been extremely consistent in his veteran years as he now recorded at least eight sacks in four straight seasons https://www.denverproshoponline.com/Karl_Mecklenburg_Pillow_Cover-499. Last but not least, Melvin Ingram is another guy that could make sense. He was limited to just seven games in 2020 and finished the year without a sack for the first time in his NFL career.
